One of our kilted chauffeur guides collects you from your hotel in a luxury vehicle at 8 am to start your Glencoe and Scotland Highlands day trip. This journey to beautiful lochs and glens (lakes and valleys) takes you through some of Scotland’s most picturesque landscapes. Heading northwest along the fabled A85 and A82, we visit no less than 10 lochs.
As we climb into the mountains, we turn off the main tourist route and visit Glen Etive — keep your eyes peeled for a sighting of some red deer. This lesser travelled part of the country is where the James Bond film Skyfall, Harry Potter, Outlaw King, and Mary Queen of Scots were filmed. This magnificent landscape of extinct volcanoes, carved and reshaped by glaciers, is a pleasure to explore. Etive Mor is an extinct super volcano standing at the gateway to Glen Etive which came second place in a poll by Tripadvisor of the “Top 10 Places to See Before You Die”.

We then stop at the Three Sisters of Glencoe, considered by most Scots to be the heart of the Highlands. This area has a turbulent history, notably the massacre of Glencoe in 1692 when 38 men of Clan Macdonald were slain by government troops.
